A large and remarkable flat desk in blackened pearwood veneer and geometric decoration in brass fillets.
It opens with a central recessed drawer and, on either side, two superimposed drawers with a scalloped belt in accolade.
The visitor's side presents the same simulated architecture.
The rectangular top is covered with an old black leather gilded with small irons, it presents the rich decoration of an important central motif in four leaves and a broad frieze in edge. It is encircled by its moulding of cast bronze brazed, spandrels in chased and gilded bronze.
The rounded uprights end in strongly arched feet.
The lateral parts, curved in an accolade, are centered by a remarkable chased and gilded bronze representing a graceful female mask.
Gitbronze ornamentation : entrances of locks "with lions' heads", hanging fluted drawing hands and rosette attachments, masks, leafy sabots, spandrels.
