17th & 18th centuries Furniture and Statuary
This lovely little chest of drawers has a slightly curved front.
It opens with three drawers with inlaid geometric decorations in satin mahogany reserves in amaranth, boxwood and submerged oak fillets.
The top, lined with end-grain olive wood, is decorated with geometric reserves in end-grain olive wood on a background veneered with thread olive. These reserves are drawn by the course of a single net of amaranth wood enhanced by discreet nets of boxwood and submerged oak.
The uprights are rounded with simulated grooves.
The ash and light oak sides are formed of a double diamond separated by nets, all surmounted by the traditional small rectangle surrounded by a net on only three sides.
