Known under the titles: La Frileuse ou Baigneuse frileuse, bronze statuette bearing the signature JB CARPEAUX, produced and published at the beginning of the twentieth century by SUSSE Frères Editeurs Paris, with cast iron stamp and signature on the base. Patina medal of origin, beautiful general condition, slight wear of use in accordance with its age. Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux was born in Valenciennes (1827/1875) he entered the Beaux-Arts in 1844 and exhibited at the Salon from 1853.
