Bronze group depicting Louis XIII child on horseback. Known as: Louis XIII, released "Louis XIII sortie au manège", this work was presented at the Universal Exhibition of 1900, the subject was published by the founder Barbedienne from 1910. Very nice general condition, original golden patina (slight retakes), lacks an element to the plume of the helmet placed on the ground.

Emmanuel Frémiet born in Paris (1824/1910), nephew and pupil of Rude, he became interested and studied animal anatomy at the Jardin des Plantes, from 1850 he was classified as a master sculptor, in 1875 he was appointed professor at the Museum of Natural History in place of Barye and member of the Academy of Fine Arts in 1892. Considered one of the greatest sculptors of the second half of the 19th century, he received numerous commissions from the state including Joan of Arc à Cheval (Place of the Pyramids in Paris) ... at Mount St. Michael's famous archangel is visible at the top of the abbey.
