Saint Michael crushing the dragon, a gilded bronze statuette, signed and numbered, produced at the beginning of the 20th century (old font) on a base in veined red marble. Perfect finish and a lot of precision in the caring, original golden patina in a remarkable state of preservation according to its age. The height shown includes the marble base.
Emmanuel Frémiet (Paris 1824/1910) nephew and pupil of the sculptor François Rude, made his debut at the Salon in 1843 and won the most brilliant awards until the Medal of Honor out of competition in 1889, Grand Prix in 1900, and at the same time promoted Grand Officer of the Legion of Honour.
