China, blue and white porcelain wall vase, 18th century.
A porcelain wall vase of archaistic hu form, well-painted in brilliant cobalt-blue tones, the baluster half body encircled by a band of lotus scrolls, all between a ruyi border on top and a geometric band the lower part, the shoulder set with animal mask andring handles, below the waisted flared neck decorated with scrolled-bordered stiff upright plantain leaves and a narrow wave and fleur de lys band around the rim, the bottom register with a further scroll s band above a band of cut lines encircling the high flared half foot.
