Miyao of Yokohama, among the most renowned bronze makers of the Meiji period, is celebrated for his finely crafted bronzes with brown patina and gilt details. In addition to these, and in limited numbers, he also produced okimono in wood and ivory, as showcased at the Second National Industrial Exhibition in 1881.
