Alfred Boucher "The Wounded Swallow", bronze statue of the late 19th century, signed on the base, mark of the founder Susse Frères in Paris as well as the copyright SUSSE. Original brown patina, beautiful general condition, very slight wear marks.
Alfred Boucher (1850/1934) studied sculpture at the School of Fine Arts in Paris, 2nd prize in Rome in 1876, he answers numerous commissions for public monuments, grand prize at the World's Fair of 1900. Together with Paul Dubois in 1905 they created the Alfred Boucher/Paul Dubois Museum, now the Camille Claudel Museum, which was itself a pupil of Alfred Boucher.
