It is decorated with birds, garlands of pearls and laurel leaves.
The top is adorned with a beautiful "mascaron radié" symbolizing the sun.

Historical annecdote : The "mascaron radié", mask or human figure surrounded by solar rays, is an ornamental motif very popular in the eighteenth century. It was the emblem chosen by Louis XIV the "Roi Soleil" and is often found in the decorative arts under Louis XVI including pendulums pendulums.
