An English Carved Stone Statue of Bacchus circa 1800

Well carved and stood raising a glass high in his right hand and holding a bunch of grapes down to his left, crowned in a wreath of ivy and draped in a lion skin.

It appears to be carved in a hard limestone, probably Portland stone.

Pleasingly weathered without loss of definition.
