Exceptional Extremely fine Isfahan (Persia) rug, dating from the late 19th century, made of high quality, silky lambswool Kork velvet on cotton backing. A rare, historic and highly poetic rug, depicting various scenes from the illustrious Persian poets. Composed of a triple border, the main one ivory with interlacing of fine crenellated stems in the Persian kufic taste in polychrome.
