Isfahan carpet circa 1970

This sumptuous Isfahan carpet, made around 1965/70 in the imperial workshops of Iran during the Shah's reign, is an exceptional work of art. It is distinguished by its high-quality silky lamb's wool pile and its silk foundations, with a remarkable density of 10,000 to 11,000 knots per dm². The refined decoration is inspired by the earthly paradise, presenting an ivory field decorated with plants, flowering trees of life, birds, and symmetrical cypresses, framed by six borders, including a main ruby ??red border magnified by stylized floral motifs. This carpet combines the softness of wool with the shine of natural silk, offering a perfect balance between elegant graphics and exceptional finesse. Ideal for enhancing a sophisticated interior, it is a true embodiment of Persian refinement.
