Rare wig commode in solid walnut wood opening with two drawers on the front.
It is curved on the front and on the sides and rests on four arched legs ending in deer hooves.
The drawers and the central separation decorated with quatrefoils and moldings treated in elegy.
The crosspieces are also deeply molded and scrolled.
Beautiful decoration of acanthus in cockscomb and stylized feathers.

Our opinion :
The console table with a side drawer was quite common in Provence, notably the models from the Fourques workshops, but chests of drawers with a row of drawers intended to store wig boxes remain extremely rare.
It is very possible that this type of furniture was only intended for clients from the judiciary.
