A Louis XV ormolu mounted commode stamped Delorme 18th Century Circa 1765

Small curved chest of drawers, opening with two drawers in length, with a concealed support crosspiece, decorated on the front and sides with natural and tinted floral marquetry representing bunches of roses and knotted nasturtiums, on a satinwood background arranged in a frieze, in a violetwood frame on which stands out a rich chiseled bronze trim. This asymmetrical rocaille bronze trim is composed of large polylobed volutes decorated with twining foliage detaching from the chest of drawers to form the handles of the drawers. Each of the edges is decorated with bronze falls with foliage decoration extending to the sabots. The drawers are locked by a single lock positioned in the upper drawer; this one having a lower bolt system fits via the support crosspiece into a bridge arranged for this purpose in the lower drawer. The whole is topped with a leaf in Aleppo breccia. The JLF Delorme stamp for Jean-Louis Faizelot Delorme is struck on the right crosspiece and the JME jurande on the right rear upright under the marble. Restorations of use and maintenance such as repair of the losses and lifting of the tiled veneers, revision of the sliding of the drawers, installation of flipots on the floors and french polish. Dimensions: Height 80.6cm – width 64.2cm – depth 34.8cm Jean-Louis-Faizelot Delorme, received master in 1763. Jean-Louis-Faizelot Delorme son of François Delorme and brother of Adrien Delorme, officiates in his father's workshop, rue Tiquetonne. The Louvre Museum holds: a pair of low bookcases with three doors, decorated with marquetry in counterpart of tortoiseshell on a brass background from the Château de Saint Cloud (fire mark) as well as a chiffonier from the Château d'Abondant from the collections of the Louvre Museum Bequest of Count Isaac de Camondo
