Chiseled and gilded bronze, white marble.
This pair of elegant covered pots in the Louis XVI style stand out on a square base with a pedestal surrounded by crossed ribbons.
The body of the vase emerges from a crown of water leaf frieze. The two handles with sharp angles, streaked in reserves and emerging from acanthus leaves are very inspired by the Antique.
They are linked by garlands with central motifs in facing windings of plant motifs. The simulated lid bears swirling grooves with an inverted movement, a criterion of quality work, the grooves are decorated with vegetable rudentures in bronze.
A catch in fruit berry sums the whole.
White marble art vases are the least common, we can think of Madame Du Barry who loved white marble.
Their quality of drawing and workmanship is excellent.
