18th Furniture, country french furniture
Small Louis XV chest of drawers in solid walnut, opening with two drawers.
Provence, 18th century.
Charming little Provencal chest of drawers with a crossbow profile strongly curved on the sides opening to two drawers decorated with reserves. It is topped by a tray molded with a "bec-de corbin" underlined by a cavet following the contours of the frame, its amounts are decorated with molded reserves, its crosspieces elegantly curved, all resting on well arched feet.
We note the small proportions of a piece of furniture said to occupy the small space between two windows. However, it does not go unnoticed because of its well marked character which contributes to its charm.
It is adorned with a beautiful original chiseled bronze trim composed of lock entries and pull handles and their plates with rosettes of a refined model.
As is the case with most of the furniture we present, this chest of drawers is still in excellent original condition (one is almost astonished, for example, not to find the slightest crack or notch on such thin legs) but has been the subject of a thorough restoration and finishing.
It is also presented in a superb original patina.
The drawers still have their respective original iron locks with a key to operate them.
All visible parts in walnut, the back and the drawer bottoms in fir.
