Pair of carved and gilded wood dolphins 18th century

Pair of half-round sculptures on pedestals representing dolphins in gilded wood.
Probably 18th-century Northern Italian work.

Good condition, both the carvings (probably walnut) and their period gold gilding.
(Later reinforcements on the backs of the dolphins).
Wooden bases (poplar?) in neoclassical style, old but later (rather 19th century), gilded and green lacquered on top.


Dimensions: Total height 57.5 cm x width approx. 32 cm.
Base 24.5 x 21 x 7.5 cm.
