This chest of drawers from the end of the Louis XVI period is made of mahogany and mahogany veneer on an oak core, it opens in front with five drawers on three rows, three small ones on the first row then two large ones. It is topped with a marble top which is girded with an openwork brass gallery. The drawer fronts are framed with a small flat mahogany rod and a quarter round in brass. The sides with two panels are also surrounded by a small flat strip. It rests on four turned feet. In good condition this chest of drawers has only undergone very minor restorations, a corner of marble had to be repaired and one or two small pieces have been made. The entries of locks, the handles of pulling and the gallery are of origin. This chest of drawers has benefited from a waxed filling which gives the wood a very pleasant satin aspect.
Eighteenth century period.
