Offered by Isabelle Chalvignac
Commode in veneer of pallisander and walnut on the sides, uprights in console, projection at the back, tray with geometric decoration with nets.
The curved shape of the front leads to a wide rounding of the tray surrounded by a gilded bronze mold.
Rich decoration in gilded bronze: entries of lock with sphinxes, falling handles, mask of Ceres on the apron, interlacing foliage feet, scroll console of each front amount from which escapes a garland of lily of the valley surmounted by a woman's bust, the same garland ended by foliage, palmette.
The simplicity of the walnut sides with no bronze ornaments.
The skilful play of the black veined rosewood veneer, forming beautiful geometrical patterns in frieze and fillets.
All these typical decorations allow to attribute without any hesitation this chest of drawers to Thomas Hache.
