18th Furniture, country french furniture
Lyon chest of drawers with a crossbow profile in solid walnut molded and carved. Lyon, 18th century.
The top is made of three planks, the edges are hemmed with a thick "bec-de-corbin" with a fillet following the contours of the front. It opens on three rows with three drawers decorated with deep moldings and large asymmetrical spandrels carved with rocaille.
The rounded uprights are decorated with reserves, topped with acanthus plumes under the tray and punctuated with acanthus leaves above the slightly arched feet.
This chest of drawers is of a beautiful construction, typically Lyonnaise, with a very recognizable panelling of the sides.
The drawers, backs and intermediate floors are in fir.
The bronzes with already neoclassical motifs are perfectly original on the chest of drawers.
Very nice original condition of the whole piece of furniture. No grafts to report.
Period : second half of the 18th century.
