Important gilt bronze clock with crystal and white marble cage. The white enamel dial with garlands of flowers signed "Thibault à Rouen" is supported by a crystal body and gilt bronze mounting decorated with foliage, garlands and seeds. The clock is driven by a balance wheel with a radiating Apollo head motif visible from its four glass sides, thick bevelled glass. The dial is surmounted by a flowery cup from which garlands of fruits and flowers escape. The white marble base and the foot of the clock is decorated with seeds.
This clock is characteristic of the Louis XVI style in vogue under Napoleon III. Circa 1870.
