17th & 18th centuries Furniture and Statuary
This pair of large Louis XV armchairs has flat scalloped and molded backs. The fauetuils are attributed to Pierre Nogaret, a famous Lyon carpenter.
The armchairs have a carved decoration of flowers and foliage on the backrests, the belt as well as on the feet.
The armrest consoles, with deep and edgy moldings, have a so-called “whiplash” movement, and are sculpted with discreet leaves.
These two seats rest on four curved legs.
The nervousness of its curves as well as the decor allow us to attribute it to the famous Lyon carpenter Pierre Nogaret.
