French "Regence" mirror in golden wood, early 18th century

This very beautiful mirror with gilt wood glazing beads, from the Regency period, is adorned on the frame with a Bérain decoration as well as four shells in the spandrels. It is surmounted by a pediment supported by two elegant bird heads sheathed in foliage and falling in falling flowers along the mirror.
A rich ornamentation of acanthus leaves, volutes, gadroons adorns this large pediment topped with a beautiful openwork shell.
