Historical annecdote: The sobriety of the sculptures as well as the use of a curved flat backrest allows us to situate this pair of armchairs in the years 1765-1771. This period corresponds to the last phase of production of the Louis XV style by Pierre Nogaret. (see in reference the work by B. Deloche, Le Meubles bourgeois à Lyon, p.186)
