Set of six dessert spoons and six dessert forks by the goldsmith Charles-Salomon MAHLER and six fruit knives by the goldsmith Eugène-Théodore GILLOT in gold plated solid silver.
They have a splendid finely chiseled decor of palm leaves, acanthus, foliage, flowers and shells. They are monogrammed "PG".
French hallmark "Minerve 1er titre" (950‰).

With a splendid quality of carving in the service of a rich and delicate iconography, this set constitutes a rare and precious testimony of high goldsmithery of the Louis-Philippe period.
Charles-Salomon MAHLER, Parisian goldsmith and spoon maker, successor of CASTEL registered his first mark in 1816. On July 18, 1824, the second mark "C MAHLER a morion helmet" was stamped. It was installed at 21, Cour du Harlay, then 9, Cour de la Sainte-Chapelle in 1841.

Eugène-Théodore GILLOT, cutlers' goldsmith, registered his mark on November 23, 1835. He is located at 18, rue du Faubourg-Montmartre in Paris. His mark was deleted on May 6, 1845.
