Travelling cabinet in gold lacquered wood on a black background opening by two doors revealing eight drawers of different sizes.
The outside of the doors, the top and the back are decorated with landscapes, the sides with birds on branches; the inside of the doors are decorated with bamboo leaves and a rocky landscape in two rectangular reserves.
The base is slightly recessed.
Ornamented with chased and gilded bronze: locks, hinges, spandrels, handles and pull rings.
It rests on a straight black and gold lacquered base with framing fillets, from the later period.
Japan Edo period , circa 1660- 1680 .
