Precious small violet wood Commode - chest of drawers. Rich Rocaille ormolu bronze ornament. It opens with two drawers. Symmetrical Rocaille model, Parisian work circa 1750. François Garnier's FG stamp applied 5 times on the 4 angles under the marble.
François Garnier is a very talented cabinet maker of the 18th century, he began his career in the 1730s under the Regence and died in 1774.
His production is always very refined and elegant. François Garnier is the father of Pierre Garnier, one of the most famous cabinetmakers of the late 18th century.
Our dresser is in excellent condition. totally resored with a new varnish. original marble and bronzes, mercury gilding of 18th well preserved.
