Half-moon-shaped wall console in carved oak with a gray-green patina. A handsome, richly carved model resting on a central console foot, adorned with acanthus leaves and rows of piastre, the waistband carved with interlacing, and falls of flowers and fruit. It is topped with grey Sainte Anne marble. Parisian work from the early Louis XVI period (circa 1770-1780), a fine example of the work of Jacob.
Beautiful sculpture of elegant proportions, particularly the console-shaped central foot, reminiscent of those on Jacob's armchairs for the Comte d'Artois at the Château de Maisons. Our console is suitable for an entrance hall or dining room (the green color recalls that of the dining room in the Hôtel de Camondo).
A charming 18th-century object, ideal for a country house or city apartment.
Very good overall condition, structurally sound and in good condition, minor restorations. The console has been relacquered and repatinated. It is to be fixed to the wall, which is why we are “holding” it for the photos.
