Pair of portraits based on well-known iconography. The Sun King is depicted in profile, wearing the Golden Fleece and rich armor, according to numerous numismatic and medallic works. Marie Thérèse, Empress is depicted after a drawing by Duvivier (as is often the case for these stylistic profiles), currently conserved at Carnavalet.
