Beautiful Regency period bookcase all in kingwood veneer, very neatly made, no doubt in Strasbourg.
The doors have flat frames, they are surrounded on the inside by a hollow cove which receives two panes at the top separated by a small transom and at the bottom by a panel veneered in the sun.
The frame is with canted sides and small sides. It is built like the doors with a recessed cove.
The whole is veneered in a square and obliquely forming rafters with crosspieces on the sides at the height of those of the doors, the cut sides, they are veneered with a large round forming the separation.
It is topped with a cove cornice placed across it.
It has a cut base resting on four feet with a beautiful ornamentation of gilded bronzes. The shelf field is veneered. Iron door opening hinges.
Period early 18th century, very very well made and with an unusual veneer decor.
In perfect condition.
