17th & 18th centuries Furniture and Statuary
Charming writing table, four sides, in cherry and amaranth fillets opening with two side drawers.
This model, seemingly simple, is characteristic of the care and finish brought by Jean-François Hache in all his furniture.
We will notice the careful execution of the taut curve of the feet taken up without interruption of the line by the rounding of the belt crosspieces.
As for the decor, we can admire the internal chamfer of the legs, highlighted by an amaranth net extending onto the lower crosspiece, thus creating a particularly elegant outline.
Also note a characteristic of the Ax which consists of maximizing the useful width of the drawers by halving the thickness of the uprights. In addition, this system allows the lower crosspiece to be mounted with dovetails and not with mortises and tenons, thus avoiding the always unsightly doweling.
The top is trimmed with red-brown morocco highlighted with a golden border with small irons.
