An exceptional and very rare box in ebony, red scales and ivory from the Louis XIV period. Rectangular in shape, it opens onto a rosewood interior at the top and is trimmed at the bottom with green silk fabric. The top is decorated with a large rosette in relief made of red and ivory scales. It rests on six loaf feet decorated with claw-shaped bronzes varnished with fine gold. Very beautiful gold varnished bronze ornamentation such as lifting handles, keyholes and falls.
