A rare pair of Regence chairs

Circa 1740
In natural beechwood, with a violin-shaped backrest and a curved seat, this pair of chairs is molded and carved with heart-shaped cartouches framed by clasps and flowers. Very low on the seat, they rest on cambered legs adorned with flowers at the top and ending in an acanthus leaf.
