Rare pair of chairs Italy - Veneto - 17th century walnut wood, resinous, and inlaid decoration in maple wood.
Atypical trapezoidal backrest with three-sided pediment, a large frieze of veined walnut, bordered with a maple fillet, surrounds a mirror panel in the center of which a winged putti presents a flower, whose lightness announces the 18th century. At the base of the backrest, a lambrequin motif carved with scrolls and a shell. The seat is also trapezoid in shape, the contours of which are scalloped and molded on three sides. The whole is made with a square section base structure. The rear uprights, in one piece, emphasize the flared side of the backrest, the legs are connected together by reinforcing crosspieces, those on the front are highlighted by a scalloped apron, and are inlaid with veined walnut reserves , lined with maple fillets, reminiscent of the decoration of the backrest.
