17th & 18th centuries Furniture and Statuary
Pair of frames representing two humorous scenes carved on ivory and affixed to a blackened wooden support.
One depicting a thrashing woman, with her shoe removed from her left foot, a man appearing to want to steal her handbag.
The other rather alludes to a domestic scene or a theft scene, where the man flees by climbing a fence, held back by a woman whose angry expression is beyond doubt !
