Large gilded wood Overmantel with mercury glass

Large mantel mirror in gilded wood with gold leaf, mercury mirror with glittered sheen. Beautiful Louis XV Regence-style shell and openwork moldings, the pediment adorned with a pair of putti and flower falls. 19th century, circa 1850-60.

Our mirror is a very large format, which lends itself well to natural use as a mantelpiece or floor mirror. Beautiful frame with rich, bold moldings.

A beautiful, large piece, of superior quality and highly decorative. A very large format like this, and in such fresh condition, is very rare.

Everything is original: gold leaf gilding in good condition, cleaned by our gilder, unblemished mercury glaze, original parquet flooring at the back.
