Regence period mirror in carved giltwood

Double-framed mirror in gilded and carved wood, with original bevelled glazing beads. Powerful and beautiful decoration of foliage and scrolls running around the perimeter of the mirror.
The mirror's glazing beads merge into the rounded pediment, superbly carved in its center with a large shell flanked by foliage, a projection of which delimits the upper glazing bead.
The leafy lower crosspiece, supported by scrolled foliage feet, is centered on a broken leaf, while the lower glazing bead is also limited by a leaf.
Rare Transition period model, France.
