Extremely rare white-glazed helmet-shaped ewer with molded fleur-de-lis decoration. It is accompanied by its circular pedestal basin, which features a virgin decoration with double gadrooned friezes on the rim and bottom.
Good condition; a hair on the body of the ewer.

Our view :
In the 17th century, earthenware was mainly destined for wealthy aristocratic homes and churches. Few of these early ewers have survived, and even fewer with their original basins.
Although this type of piece is extremely rare, the presence of a decoration studded with fleurs-de-lis is, as far as we know, unprecedented and suggests a prestigious patron.
