A 14 carat gold enamelled tabatiere of rectangular shape with a hinged lid, with black and royal blue enamel on a gold background. The cover, the base and the sides of the box with geometric motifs are framed by interlacing leaves on a blue enamel background.
The rounded corners are also punctuated with finely chiselled leaf motifs.The central motif, surrounded by a gold frame, depicts a hunting scene against a natural background of mountains, trees and birds of prey. Painting on gold in the Persian style.
Probably Hanau (Germany) for the Persian market or Switzerland.
