An impressive and large statue of a very attractive semi nude figure of David after the fight against Goliath, with his sword in hand and his foot on Goliath's head.
The statue has a stamp by A. Collas Brevete, Reduction Mecanique and F. Barbedienne and signature by A. Mercie.
David statue with with its youthful lithe figure originally sculpted nude, won first prize in Rome, in 1870 and is one of the finest and work of great artist Marious-Jean-Antonin Mercie.
