Important and exceptional gilded wood torch holder richly carved, representing an angel carrying a torch decorated with acanthus leaves and its tray.
It rests on a tripod base decorated with flowers, flat shells, acanthus leaves and volutes as well as angels' heads.
The original gilding presents a beautiful patina and a very nice shine preserved to this day.
Of Provencal origin, coming from one of the most remarkable mansion in Aix.
It dates from the Regence period around 1720, very early 18th century.
Private collection, always remained in the same family.
In rather good condition (missing a part of the right hand of the cherub and small lacks in the gilding).
