Virgin and Child “in Majesty” seated in a frontal position, presenting the infant Jesus standing on her right knee.
Marie is wearing a red dress with a flared neckline. Her tenderly bent face is topped with a soft veil that covers her wavy hair.
The child Jesus hides his nudity behind a light stole, of which Mary holds the end of her left hand with a graceful gesture.
Her chubby face is surrounded by charming little curls.
A benevolent maternal sweetness emanates from this charming sculpted group.
Note the beautifully carved throne of the Virgin on the back of the sculpture.
