Offered by Baptiste Jamez Fine Art
French Regence style armchair with cane seat and backrest attributed to Jean-Baptiste CRESSON.
It can be used as an office chair.
It is in finely molded and carved beech, the backrest and the belts have pomegranate ornamentation, foliage, cartouche, jagged foliage.
Cognac leather trim.
The extreme refinement of the sculpture, the ornamental richness as well as many elements of its decorative repertoire, in particular the exploded pomegranate with leaves at the top, allow this seat to be attributed to one of the workshops of the CRESSON family, an 18th century dynasty specialized in the very beautiful Regence and Louis XV style productions, and more precisely to Jean-Baptiste CRESSON.
