18th-century and Empire French furniture, works of art and pictures
They have a straight back à la Reine with a curved crowning carved with a guilloche frieze, the upper corners with corner-blocks centered by a rosette.
The padded armrests ending in a scroll are raised on scrolled supports ornated with foliage and acanthus leaves.
The ornamentation of the convex-shaped seat-rail matches that of the back, interrupted by the same corner-blocks.
They are raised on tapered legs with stopped flutings by gadronned capitals.
Provenance: Galerie Perrin, Paris 1998.
