Marie-Adelaïde of Savoy is the eldest child of Victor-Amédée II, duke of Savoy and Anne Marie of Orleans, daughter of Monsieur, brother of Louis XIV and Henriette of England, first wife of Monsieur.
On December 7, 1697, Marie-Adelaïde of Savoy married the future dauphin at the age of 12. Carried away by a measles epidemic that ravaged Versailles, she died on February 12, 1712 at the age of 26 years, the dauphin died 6 days later and then the eldest of their sons died after a month, only the youngest of their children, who will become Louis XV, will resist.
