Oil on canvas on a period stretcher and period gilded wood frame, oval format.
Gentleman in armor, presented in bust, head turned to the left.
He wears the Order of the Collar (Savoy order of chivalry) called: Supreme Order of the Most Holy Annunciation.
On his collar are the initials FERT: Fortitudo Et Robur Taurineusis (Turinese Strength and Robustness).
An inscription on the back of the frame indicates that our Chevallier distinguished himself in battle against Louis XIV's army in Turin, and that he died at the battle of Marsaglia in October 1693.
