Émile Schuffenecker (1851-1934)
Etretat, circa 1890-1900.
Schuffenecker was part of the Pont-Aven school and the best (ont could say the only) friend of Gauguin, whose financial affairs he managed in France. He often spent his summers in Etretat where Monet and his circle often painted. This pastel certainly draws from this movement.
