Provencal wedding cabinet

Remarkable Provence wedding armoire, finely carved in blond walnut representing the full decoration style of the Provence area, i.e. olive and oak branches, wheat and corn, roses, flowers, arrows, flower basket, flaming hearts, ribbons and musical instruments. A Louis XV structure enriched by Louis XVI decorative patterns. Alongside this florid style, the style of Fourques (village near Arles) is characterized by a thin carved pattern named “in snails”. The beautiful setting of the ironwork provides a strong vertical balancing décor. Inside, a block with three drawers at the bottom named “pantalonnière". Double lock bolt, rod, fittings, keys: all original.

This Provence armoire we present is of museum quality.

Exceptionnal condition, no restauration.

It is representative of the styles of Arles and Fourques together.
