An Empire ormolu mounted mahogany venered inkstand, of rectangular shape, opening by a drawer, with two ormolu ink pot receptacles on the top flanking an ormolu sponge bowl.
Paris circa 1810
A similar inkstand is housed in Napoleon library in the palace of Compiegne, venered in gnarl of elm and with the central bowl missing. (Inv. N°C232)
