PRESENTATION GALLERY : Galerie Philippe Guegan
Philippe Guegan is a specialist of French Decorative Arts, from 18th to early 19th century. In his gallery, antiques are combined with contemporary art, like kinetic pieces by the French duo Todd & Fitch. The outcome being an eclectic cocktail of refined taste and elegance, very much appreciated, not only by international collectors, but also by the younger generation.
Seats, furniture, works of art and paintings are carefully selected for their own beauty, but also through three criteria: authenticity, workmanship quality and provenance. Furniture, mostly from the neoclassic périod, with its elegant outlines, and geometric shapes, fits well into period rooms as well as modern interiors.
Philippe Guegan is member of Carré Rive Gauche. He studied Law and Art History, and became Commissaire-Priseur. He first worked as a specialist in different auction houses, then he joined the Franco-American art dealer Flore de Brantes in year 2000. He runs his own gallery in Paris since 2008, located 12 rue de l’Université, in the heart of Saint Germain des Prés and Carré Rive Gauche.
